How to remove (uninstall) MyPC Doctor Tech Support Scam

MyPC Doctor belongs to Trojan family and the "tech support scam" category. Its danger level can be considered as low or medium, and here we will explain you how to get rid of it once and for all.

The structure of MyPC Doctor Trojan is very simple: it's a banner plus the script that puts this banner in Startup folder. When the virus begins its work, it launches before the desktop becomes visible, so you just cannot see the icons on it and the "start" menu. But this is only the first phase of work. The second phase begins when user calls the specified number. The specially trained personnel respond on all calls and try to make a conversation as long as possible. Of course, the number is paid, and if user calls - he instantly loses few dollars. Then scammers are trying to convince the user that he needs to purchase some miracle software to get rid of not existing problem. If user agrees with it - he pays again. In some cases scammers ask to give them the remote access to user's PC and then the losses might be really noticeable, because they'll receive access to all user's files, passwords and accounts.

So one day, when you start your computer, you find on your desktop a large banner that covers all the icons, the "Start" menu and other navigation tools. You can not run any program, and you can not use Task Manager and other features computer in order to hide this banner. In all these banners written about the same thing: "Bla bla bla, you have a problem with your PC and if you want to get rid of it - call this number and we will solve it.". How to protect yourself from MyPC Doctor and other suchlike viruses

First of all you have to understand: the reputable antiviruses do not work this way. They eliminate the threat, and if they do not - you contact them on the number, written on the official website or in any other reliable source. The banner that appeared on the PC without your notice is not the reliable source, and if you see any offers to call on any number - just ignore it, and use the Safe mode to clear the PC from this threat.
